Living a life purpose

In John 9:1–3, Jesus reminds us that suffering is not always punishment for sin. Sometimes our struggles become the very place where God reveals His power, grace, and glory. God’s protection does not mean a life without hardship, but the assurance that He is with us through every trial. When the disciples saw the man born blind, they immediately asked Jesus who had sinned—the man or his parents. Like them, we often assume that hardship must mean we have done something wrong. But Jesus answered differently: “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.” — John 9:3 Jesus shifted the focus from blame to purpose. Not every struggle is punishment. Sometimes suffering becomes the place where God’s glory is revealed. Just what I needed to hear. A whisper from God My daughter you are never alone, don’t allow your feelings to trick you. Don’t  trust your feelings that always changes, trust my words to you that is true and never changes. I am holding you by my victorious right hand. I am guiding you through and moving you towards victory. You just have to be brave and courageous.

My son Dara is 20 years today. As I look back today, my heart is so full of joy and hope because I know the Lord has great plans for him. Dear Father, thank You for this special day that You chose to be the birthday of this my dear and special child. Lord You scheduled every day of his life from before he was born and have watched over him, and Lord how I rejoice to see him growing up day by day and reaching another milestone in his young life.  Watch over him I pray and look down on him with Your love and favour. Lord, I ask that as he faces a new year with new opportunities and challenges that You would enable him to grow in wisdom and favour with God and men as he learns to trust in You Lord, with each passing day. I pray for blessings and joy over Dara. You knew everything about him before his birth and You have a plan of prosperity and hope for his life! I look back on my life and wonder why things just seems to be one battle after another. I lost my mum and then my dad. The loss of my dad was so unexpected that it broke me. Three weeks later I gave birth to my son, which was traumatic. I had an emergency caesarean because he was not breathing and the prognosis from the doctors was bleak because the loss of oxygen to his brain. I sank into depression and self-pity. I couldn’t understand why as God who claims to love me will allow these things to happen to me. I was not yet over the shock of my father’s death, now I was facing the loss of my new born son. I was so disappointed and I lost faith in God. Even in my loneliness and depression I knew he was with me. In the end, I realised there was nobody else to turn to but to turn to God. It was a hard battle but I had to rely and trust in God. To God be the glory, my son survived against all odds and he is soon going to be 18 years. It has not been easy but God has been with us ...

Lord I am incredibly grateful for last year. It has been a year of ups and downs, but one truth still rings clear amidst it all - I am never alone and you are still God. Thank you for all you have allowed in my life this past year, the good along with the hard things, which reminded me of how much I  need you and rely on your presence in my life every single day. Forgive me for the times I have worked so hard to be self sufficient, forgetting my need for you, living independent of your spirit. Forgive me for letting fear and worry control my mind, and for allowing pride and selfishness wreak havoc over my life. Forgive me for not following your ways and for living distant from your presence. I pray for your spirit to lead me each step of this new year. Where are you Lord when everything looks so bleak and dark. Where are you Lord when everything feels so hopeless. Where are you Lord when I feel I am walking blindly in the valley. When will I come out from the depth of this darkness and hopelessness I read your word for encouragement I read your word for hope I read your word to drown out the voice of the enemy I read your word so that I can hear your voice I read your word to strengthen me I read your word to live through each day Lord I pray you fill me with hope when I have no hope Lord I pray you fill me with joy when it seems there is nothing to celebrate Lord I pray you speak to me when I need direction. God will provide We should be confident in God’s provision. He has promised to supply all our needs - emotionally, spiritually and physically. We should find contentment in His provision. Contentment is not getting what we want but contentment is wanting what we already have. 1 Tim 6:6-8 says “Yet true religion with contentment is greatest wealth. After all we didn’t bring anything with us when we came into this world and we certainly can carry anything with us when we anyway. So why should we fear when we know that God is more than capable to meet our needs or the needs of those we love. The deepest needs of our heart can only be met by Jesus Christ. I will not fear for I know all my needs will be met by God. God is with us We should be confident of his presence. We don’t know what we are going to face from one day to the next but there is one thing we can be sure of; God will never leave us. There is a hole in our lives that only God can fill. A man or woman cannot fill the hole because he or she will always disappoint you A job cannot fill the hole because it is only for a while Material possessions cannot fill the hole because it will not give you peace Only God can fill the hole in your heart. He is the only one that can offer us the joy, peace, love and life that we desire. Don’t let the enemy make you think that your circumstance is different or special. Don’t let the enemy convince you that nobody has been through what you are facing. Don’t let the enemy deceive you into believing that you are alone. You need to know that nothing the enemy raises can destroy you because you have the power to overcome him. Jesus said, "I know. I saw Satan fall, a bolt of lightning out of the sky. See what I've given you? Safe passage as you walk on snakes and scorpions, and protection from every assault of the enemy. No one can put a hand on you. All the same, the great triumph is not in your authority over evil, but in God's authority over you and presence with you. The Christian life is a journey and you have to decide how you are going to travel through it. Either by focusing on the problems and depending on yourself or focusing on God, his promises and depending on him. During my journey I have found out that focusing on the problems and depending on myself to work it out, never really is the answer. As mothers, we want the best for our children. In my own case, I thought the best thing for my son was to stay in mainstream school even though he had special needs. I have always fought tooth and nail to ensure this was the case and I did everything I could for him to stay in mainstream school. After finishing year six in a mainstream school he moved to another mainstream school for year 7. One day I was called into a meeting with the school and the council to discuss the issues he had been having in the school. At this meeting, I was informed that my son was not coping in mainstream school and the best thing for him is to attend a schoo...

God can take our brokenness, God can take the mistakes of our past, God an take our weaknesses and do great things through it all. Don't ever doubt that God can create something beautiful out of our mess, His power is great and nothing is impossible with God. I am so thankful and grateful that God is a God of second chances, He takes our ashes and make something beautiful out of it I am so thankful and grateful that God is a God of fresh starts, He gives us new beginnings I am so thankful and grateful that God is a God of hope, He gives us hope for a better future.

Revelation 7:12  saying: “Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!” Praise opens doors, praise breaks chains, praise brings the forces of heaven to your aid So shout God's praise when you are against a brick wall. Shout God's praise when you are going round in circles. Shout God's praise when circumstances seem to mock you. The joy of the Lord [the joy that comes from knowing He is present with you and Has gone before you to work things out in your favour] is you strength (Nehemiah 8:10)

I start today praising you Lord I start today in your presence I start today with you by my side guiding me I start today with your strength because I know I can’t face today in my own strength I start today with the assurance that you are with me I start toady with the assurance that you will provide all I need for this day I start today with the assurance that all is well I start today with an expectant heart because I know you have great things in store for me

Today, I celebrate my you, son and I thank God for you I know the battles you fought and won to survive and I celebrate your determination and thank God for his miracles I know the struggles you go through every day and I celebrate your perseverance and thank God for the strength He has placed in you I know the fears you face everyday and I celebrate your bravery and thank God for the courage He has bestowed upon you I see how your face lights up when you accomplish something and I celebrate you and thank God for the joy He has placed in you. I celebrate you today and thank God for blessing me with a wonderful son.

Genesis 19:15-16 At dawn the next morning the angels became insistent. “Hurry,” they said to Lot. “Take your wife and your two daughters who are here. Get out right now, or you will be swept away in the destruction of the city!” 16 When Lot still hesitated, the angels seized his hand and the hands of his wife and two daughters and rushed them to safety outside the city, for the Lord was merciful. When I read this I was dumbfounded by the reaction of Lot. God sent him a message that everyone in the city he was living in will be destroyed, so he should leave. What did Lot do, leave. No, he hesitated even though he knew the consequences of staying. Why did he hesitate, was he afraid of the unknown, did he not trust God. God was still merciful to Lot, God’s angels seized the hands of Lot and his family and rushed them to safety. God challenged me that I also do this. Your God will never leave you. Here is his promise to every believer: "I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you 'Do not fear; I will help you. Do not be afraid'" (Isaiah 41:13-14) What love, what assurance we have in God's promises. He says He will never leave us. He is there taking us by the hand and holding us close. Why are you afraid or fretting about what the day will hold. Don't you know that as soon as you wake the Lord of all takes hold of your hands and walks by your side guiding your every step as He leads you through the day. Face today and indeed every other day with joy, boldness and anticipation knowing that your Heavenly Father is with you and He is holding your hands. He is with you every step of the way - through the good, the bad, the ugly and sad times.
