There is a quiet pressure in today’s world that constantly nudges us to prove ourselves. Prove your value. Prove your success. Prove your productivity. We live in a culture that often measures worth by output — job titles, achievements, performance reviews, followers, and visible success. The God of Purpose: Finding Hope in Suffering

In John 9:1–3, Jesus reminds us that suffering is not always punishment for sin. Sometimes our struggles become the very place where God reveals His power, grace, and glory. God’s protection does not mean a life without hardship, but the assurance that He is with us through every trial. When the disciples saw the man born blind, they immediately asked Jesus who had sinned—the man or his parents. Like them, we often assume that hardship must mean we have done something wrong. But Jesus answered differently: “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.” — John 9:3 Jesus shifted the focus from blame to purpose. Not every struggle is punishment. Sometimes suffering becomes the place where God’s glory is revealed.
