When God Feels Silent: Trusting Him When We Feel Forgotten

Image
Have You Ever Felt God Is Far Away? Have you ever prayed and felt like God didn’t answer—or even like He wasn’t there at all? We all go through seasons where God feels silent. His voice seems quiet, our prayers seem unanswered, and it’s easy to feel forgotten. Recognise your feelings Sometimes life feels overwhelming, and we wonder if God has left us to face it alone. David knew this feeling well. In Psalm 13:1–2, he cries: “How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and day after day have sorrow in my heart?” David doesn’t hide his frustration or doubt. He brings his raw, honest emotions to God. And here’s the beautiful truth: God welcomes our honesty. He’s not offended by our questions or doubts—He desires a real, genuine relationship with us. Shift from Despair to Trust David doesn’t stay in despair. Later in Psalm 13:5–6, he chooses trust over doubt: “But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing th...

Finding God’s Purpose in Life’s Waiting Seasons

Image
Waiting isn’t wasted—it’s a sacred space where God is quietly at work. In life’s waiting seasons, whether for answers, breakthroughs, or clarity, God is shaping us, strengthening us, and preparing us for what lies ahead. God is at work while we wait As Isaiah 64:4 reminds us: "Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who acts on behalf of those who wait for him." Waiting is rarely easy. It can feel frustrating, heavy, or even discouraging. But the truth is this: waiting is not a punishment, nor is it pointless. Instead, it is a purposeful season where God draws us closer, moulds our character, and deepens our trust in Him. Learning patience in a fast-paced world In a world that demands instant results, God’s timing teaches us patience. He invites us to see the waiting room not as a place of delay, but as a classroom for the soul. Here, He does some of His most transformative work—quietly, steadily, and with perfect l...

Cancer: Journey to Victory - Second Biopsy

16th January was my first day back at work after a short break. It was good to be back and to be busy again but I had to go in for another appointment. I wish my first day back was like another normal day but the appointment was a reminder that my journey is different now. I arrived at the Breast clinic at 10:45AM for my 11:00AM appointment with Aunty Remi. The appointment was for ultrasound and biopsy on both breast as they are still trying to find primary source. This is the second time I will undergo this painful procedure but I was very glad someone was with me this time because I was on my own at the first biopsy and felt alone. I felt like a paint canvas because during the ultrasound because the radiologist marked areas of my breast with a marker. It was very funny and hilarious. The biopsy was longer than the first time and very painful. Samples were taken from both breast and a marker, a small metal clip was placed in the left breast where the biopsy samples were taken. This wa...

God has not forgotten you

It may look bleak now but be assured that the Lord has not forgotten you. It may look like that promise you are awaiting will not be fulfilled but be assured that the Lord has not forgotten you It may look like the breakthrough you are believing the Lord for is not coming to pass but be assured that the Lord has not forgotten you How can the Lord forget you? You are imprinted on the palms of His hands. How can the Lord forget you? He hears the cries of your heart How can the Lord forget you? His love for you surpasses your understanding Delay does not mean the Lord has forgotten you, the delay is building your character. God is working on you to change who you are, to change your character. Keep trusting and believing that God's plan will be fulfilled at the right time. You can't see the end result but be rest assured that His perfect plan will be fulfilled at the right time because He is never late, He is never early, He is always right on time. You may not be happy wit...

Do not settle for second best

But God's not finished. He's waiting around to be gracious to you. He's gathering strength to show mercy to you. God takes the time to do everything right-everything. Those who wait around for him are the lucky ones. (Isaiah 30:18) The Lord is waiting around to be gracious to us and show mercy to us. I know that whatever we are believing God for He will surely do it because He longs to be gracious to us and show mercy to us. The only thing is that it will always be in His own way and time, not in our own way and time. So whatever you are believing God, be rest assured He will do it. You just need to hold on to His promises. Sometimes it may seem that is it taking too long and doubts starts to creep in, we may be tempted to settle for second best. At such times we must remember Gods’ promises to banish those doubts. Stand on His promises and have faith in the God we believe in. I believe God does not condemn us for having doubts because we are human. We need to turn ...
