This time of year always makes me pause. It’s more than just a date, it’s a moment filled with emotion, reflection, and deep gratitude. I think back to the day my son came into this world… a world that, in many ways, had already decided what he could and couldn’t be before he even took his first breath. But God had the final say. By His grace and mercy, he fought his way into this world. And that fight didn’t end there, if anything, it was just the beginning of a journey that would require strength, patience, and faith. It hasn’t been an easy road. There have been beautiful moments, but also challenging ones, times of uncertainty, frustration, and exhaustion. God’s Word is a gift that renews the mind. At the dead ends of life, in the darkness we never saw coming, His Word steps in like a bright light cutting through every shadow. From the very beginning, God’s voice has always made a way where there seemed to be no way. At the edge of the Red Sea, when the Israelites were trapped between deep waters and a relentless enemy, God spoke — and the sea opened. His voice carved a path through the impossible. “Your path led through the sea, your way through the mighty waters, though your footprints were not seen.” — Psalm 77:19 That is who God is. His Word doesn’t always explain every detail, but it always guides. It doesn’t always prevent the struggle, but it never leaves us to face it alone. Abba Father, life is a precious gift from you and I am thankful and full of gratitude for all you have done for me. You've blessed me, You've kept me under the shadow of Your wings, You've watched over me, You've provided for me, You've been my source of strength, You've never left me, You've comforted me when I was in pain, You've encouraged me when I was worried, You've filled my heart with joy when I was sad. All that I am today and all that I will ever be in life, I owe it all You. Today Lord, all I can say is thank you for your faithfulness in my life, thank you that you are a keeper of your promises. You have kept me alive all these years and I have lived to see my fiftieth birthday. You have blessed my life with abundance in all areas and my heart is full of joy. My heart is full of praise and thanksgiving for all you have done. Father, I thank for the things you have helped me achieve in my life until this point. I would not have done them without your help. You have been an ever present help when I needed you the most (Psalm 46:1). Father, I thank you for sustaining my life through the battles, disappointments, challenges. You have been leading me and holding me by your victorious right hand. Father, I thank you your presence through all the loss I have endured in my life. You have been my source of peace and comfort. Sometimes, it’s easier to focus on what we don’t have, rather than what we do have. So on this special day, I am taking time out to remember all of the things I am thankful for that I might have taken for granted. The beautiful world He created and gave me dominion over Being the daughter of the most high God God who loves me warts and all His love that endures forever His presence for He says He will never leave me Jesus Christ who died for my sins so I can have a relationship with God the Father Gift of faith. I know that I have been made right with God  because of my faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. I don’t have to earn my way to heaven His Word that guides me, comforts me and gives me hope. His words that will not return empty, but will accomplish what He desires and achieve the purpose for which He sent it. He is a promise maker and a promise keeper. Dara, I have many so many great memories but the best memory of all was the first time I finally got to hold you. You were so small with tubes in and out of you. Your chance of survival was low and the doctors didn’t think you will make it, but God had other plans. You were such a fighter, you fought a hard battle and you won. With God’s help you overcame all obstacles and here we are today celebrating you at 21 years. You are still a fighter because I know the struggles and fears you face every day and your determination to overcome them. Today I celebrate you. I celebrate your determination to survive and thank God for his miracles and making it happen. I celebrate your perseverance and thank God for the strength He has placed in you.
