50 Things I am Thankful For Today

Sometimes, it’s easier to focus on what we don’t have, rather than what we do have. So on this special day, I am taking time out to remember all of the things I am thankful for that I might have taken for granted.

  1. The beautiful world He created and gave me dominion over
  2. Being the daughter of the most high God
  3. God who loves me warts and all
  4. His love that endures forever
  5. His presence for He says He will never leave me
  6. Jesus Christ who died for my sins so I can have a relationship with God the Father
  7. Gift of faith. I know that I have been made right with God  because of my faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. I don’t have to earn my way to heaven
  8. His Word that guides me, comforts me and gives me hope.
  9. His words that will not return empty, but will accomplish what He desires and achieve the purpose for which He sent it.
  10. He is a promise maker and a promise keeper. He promises to work all things together for our good.
  11. God’s faithfulness
  12. God is in control and the purpose of the Lord that will stand.
  13. My true home is waiting for me
  14. The Holy Spirit that understands my weaknesses and prays for me according to His perfect will.
  15. God hears my prayers
  16. The privilege I have to confidently approach God’s presence
  17. The trials, setbacks and challenges I have faced because they draw me to Him and made me who I am today - a person totally dependent on God.
  18. His protection. Jehovah Nissi, the Lord my Banner, goes before me, and I am so glad
  19. Every day, which is a new day. His grace and mercies are new every morning
  20. I am alive today, I have this moment and day
  21. Waking me up every morning.
  22. Being able to  walk, talk and see
  23. Peace that He gives to me in any circumstance
  24. My past does not define my future.
  25. His plans. He is not done with me yet. He created me on purpose, with purpose, and for a purpose
  26. Life which He wants me to enjoy life. He came so that we could not only have life, but have it to the full.
  27. He is working everything together for my good always, regardless of whether I can see it or not!
  28. The kindness and favour I receive from people I have never met before
  29. My healing and restoration
  30. Giving me health and strength to take care of my loved ones.
  31. His blessings, favour and mercies that never runs out.
  32. The church family he has placed me in. I’m thankful for great teachings that are good for me and for Dara.
  33. Freedom to worship how and where I want
  34. The privilege I have to serve Him
  35. Provision for our financial needs. I’ve had some tough times, but God has always provided.
  36. The parents He blessed me with who loved me, taught me and supported me.
  37. My siblings, who support and encourage me. They are a blessing to me.
  38. Ambreen who has been a pillar of strength
  39. Dara, the good and perfect gift from God
  40. The family and relatives he has blessed me with
  41. My friends I get to care about and who care about me.
  42. My family and friends always checking in on me and encouraging me..
  43. The good times I share with my friends and family and the wonderful memories we are creating together
  44. Photos and the memories they bring back. I marvel at how much we have all changed, and remembering the good times.
  45. My job
  46. My work that have been very supportive
  47. The difficult co-workers that give me opportunities to show God’s grace
  48. A roof over my head and a warm home.
  49. The opportunities he has given Dara and I to go away on holidays
  50. Wisdom and strength He gives me.

What’s in Your Cup? Learning to Overflow With Thankfulness

Life has a funny way of revealing what’s really inside us. Imagine this: you’re walking back from the office kitchen with a cup of coffee. Someone bumps into you and—splat!—coffee everywhere. You spilled coffee because coffee was in your cup. If it had been tea, tea would have spilled instead. That moment teaches us something powerful: when life bumps us—through challenges, stress, or unexpected situations—whatever is in our hearts tends to spill out. God’s Word is a gift that renews the mind. At the dead ends of life, in the darkness we never saw coming, His Word steps in like a bright light cutting through every shadow. From the very beginning, God’s voice has always made a way where there seemed to be no way. At the edge of the Red Sea, when the Israelites were trapped between deep waters and a relentless enemy, God spoke — and the sea opened. His voice carved a path through the impossible. “Your path led through the sea, your way through the mighty waters, though your footprints were not seen.” — Psalm 77:19 That is who God is. His Word doesn’t always explain every detail, but it always guides. It doesn’t always prevent the struggle, but it never leaves us to face it alone.
